Denise Clivaz and Elizabeth Roberts teach K-8 French at The Avery Coonley School in Downers Grove, Illinois. Together they share over 40 years of world language teaching experience. Denise and Elizabeth have presented their curriculum at numerous regional and national conferences, including ACTFL. Through their collaboration, they have created the unique REAL LANGUAGE right away curriculum.
Elizabeth spent several years working and studying in France. She received a Master’s Degree in French Language and Civilization from New York University in Paris. She enjoys running, cooking, knitting, and spending time with her husband and three children.
Denise studied French in Switzerland and taught English there for several years. She returns to Switzerland each summer to spend time with her family. She enjoys trains, hiking in the mountains, and a good espresso.
